In today’s post, I want to share a tool for your personal development that will increase your ability to manifest what you want. It’s remarkably simple, doesn’t take a lot of time, and is like a targeted laser for attracting ease and synchronicity into your life.
The tool is to make a request for a most benevolent outcome, or MBO for short, for something you desire.
After using this practice for over a month, I’ve noticed an ease of getting things done, like getting appointments at the last minute, smooth travel, and less conflict. I recovered quickly from a severe episode of sciatica. I’ve noticed calmer connections in my relationships, and difficult conversations are easier. All these situations are easier when I remember to ask for a most benevolent outcome.
Like all goals, I find it easier to chunk down what I want so that it is a specific request. The more specific the request, the faster it manifests. This tool can be used alongside any other manifestation, meditation, or religious practice you have.
I don’t think you have to believe in angels for this to work, but Tom T. Moore, author of The Gentle Way, A Self-Help Guide for Those Who Believe in Angels, explains how to make requests for benevolent outcomes in detail and gives examples in his books, newsletters, and blogs.
The remarkably simple practice is to request a Most Benevolent Outcome for a specific result you want. Moore advises us to speak it out loud. I don’t know why, and I’ll look for the answer in his book. Perhaps it activates receiving energy in you. Whispering works as well. The point is that you are asking for and declaring your intent for a most benevolent outcome. I request MBOs when I’m driving in the car for projects, people, and situations in order to receive all the benevolent energy available to me. Making requests in this specific manner sets an intention for benevolent energy to support you.
I discovered this methodology in a publication called “The Sedona Journal of Emergence,” where Robert Shapiro and Tom T. Moore write monthly columns on how to tap into benevolent energy. Moore writes a newsletter and a weekly blog sharing results his readers generated when they requested a most benevolent outcome for a specific situation.
I just ordered the first of Moore’s Gentle Way series. The first book I ordered is called “Benevolent Magic and Living Prayers” by Robert Shapiro.
How to make a request for a most benevolent outcome (MBO for short)
Get crystal clear on what results you want. Here’s a template: “I request that any and all benevolent beings and benevolent energy support me in a most benevolent outcome for <insert your desire here.> Thank you.” It can be safe travel, the best service, connecting to people who can help, or whatever you want. Requesting support from benevolent beings, and benevolent energy is the key. Make sure to include the word ‘benevolent.’
Trust and let it go. Put your request out there with firm intention to receive benevolent support.
Always add ‘Thank you’ at the end of your request.
Here are more examples:
Daily work
“I request any and all benevolent beings and benevolent energy to support me in writing this newsletter today with love, compassion, wisdom, and knowledge, crediting those to whom it’s due for the most benevolent outcome for all. Thank you.”
“I request any benevolent beings and benevolent energy to support me in finding the best <whatever you are looking for>, and may the results be better than I hope for or expect for the most benevolent outcome. Thank you.”
“I request any and all benevolent energy and benevolent beings to support me as I facilitate/lead/participate in <this workshop, this webinar, this interview> with insight, knowledge, wit, and efficiency for the most benevolent outcome. And may the results be better than I hope for or expect. Thank you.”
Healing MBO
A few weeks ago, I experienced an excruciatingly painful bout with sciatica. On Saturday, when it took me down, I requested benevolent beings and benevolent energy to support me because I had a workshop to teach on Monday. I couldn’t walk without severe pain, holding onto something and hopping around. There was no way I could have been in a training room. If you’ve had it, you know what I mean. When the pain started, I started making MBO requests, and within 2 days, I was able to walk unaided and without pain. After a trip to urgent care and a few trigger point massages that nearly had me in tears, I could walk. I made it to the workshop successfully, and it turned out better than I could have hoped for or expected.
MBOS helped me recover
I truly believe that making requests for a most benevolent outcome supported my recovery by helping me make the decisions that would support my healing quickly. People were flying in from across the country for the workshop, so I didn’t want to have to reschedule. A few days after the workshop, my husband was scheduled for surgery, so I had to get back on my feet. I’m grateful and thankful that I healed quickly. Of course, now, I get to take better care of myself so it doesn’t happen again.
What if my MBO doesn’t work?
Sometimes, it may seem like your request doesn’t work. However, the benevolent energy won’t go there if it’s not in your best interest. Or it may look different than you thought because benevolent energy, your guides, your high self, God, and angels know something you don’t and may arrange things differently to protect or support you. A few times, I’ve scratched my head about delays when I’ve asked for efficient travel, only to find that a bad accident was ahead. On one occasion, the freeway was shut down due to an accident, but I saw the sign just in time to get off the tollway. If I had left a few minutes earlier, I would have been stuck on the freeway for hours.
Play with making requests for MBOs and see what you notice. There’s no harm, and you’ll be creating positive energy. Who doesn’t want more of that?
Benevolent Prayers for Others
You can also say a benevolent prayer for someone else. Simply replace ‘request’ with ‘ask.’ I don’t know why, but I just go with it. Say it out loud or whisper when you feel it’s best to do so.
MBOs for accidents and tragic events
Accident
While I was in California last month, we passed a terrible wreck that had just happened. My MBO was “I ask for help, healing, and support for the people involved in that wreck, along with those on their recovery and healing team, for the most benevolent outcome. Thank you.”
Violence
“I ask for any and all benevolent energy and benevolent beings to support the victims who were shot at the Super Bowl parade, and may they recover quickly for the most benevolent outcome. Thank you.”
You can ask for the most benevolent outcomes to wars, support for the victims, and for the conflict to end peacefully.
Surgery
“I ask any and all benevolent beings and benevolent energy for <my loved one or friend’s> surgery to be successful with no further treatment, and may the results be better than we hope for or expect for the most benevolent outcome. Thank you.”
Relationships
“I ask any and all benevolent energy and benevolent beings for healing for the relationship between <who you are concerned about.>”
Whether any of this is provable or not, I can’t say. We can’t check alternate timelines. I do know that I’m finding more ease and grace in life and have received benefits better than I expected or hoped for.
Before reading this post, had you heard of making requests for a Most Benevolent Outcome? It’s been around for over twenty years, and I’m just now finding it. You know the saying, “When the student is ready, the teacher will appear.”
If you want to know more about how I use requests for MBOs and say Benevolent Prayers for others, please reply to this email. I’m using MBOs for my daily needs. I’ve made bigger requests as well. When you make big requests, give the energy time to work. If you try it and notice improvements and positive results, please let me know.
Tom Moore says he experiences about an 80% success rate with his MBOs. The remaining 20% not fulfilled could be due to an unclear request, the timing not being aligned, or there being something better in line for you. Occasionally, I’ve noticed that after I’ve made an MBO, things may slow down or not go as I expected. I feel this is the energy protecting me or lining me up for something or someone who will bring benevolent energy into my life. Or for me to ask for an MBO for them.

Love this too. Although not with these specific words, I have done this. I agree - the more specific, the better. A number of years ago, when tossing and turning with great dissatisfaction in my life, I settled on writing out intentional goals: for work, health, family, etc, with some specificity. "I will double my income to X." "I will give talks inspiring people." Do you know... nearly all came to pass. I'm going to copy this specific language and try it. Thank you!
Kathy, I love this! I'm going to write it down somewhere prominent so I'll be reminded!
