Learn how to increase synchronicity and flow in your life
Below, you’ll find the recording of yesterday’s Zoom call, during which we discussed a tool for asking for what you want. It’s remarkably simple, and in the video, you’ll see examples and learn how to make benevolent requests for yourself and say benevolent prayers for yourself and others.
It’s a spiritual tool that can help you achieve your big dreams and everyday tasks. The more you use it, the more you gain, and the easier your life unfolds.
You can’t do it wrong, except if you do the thing that will keep your requests from happening. In this video, I cover who I learned this from, how to use it, and how to craft your requests.
You’ll learn the three keys to making successful requests of your Universal and Divine support.
The video has slides with helpful content and the names of the books I refer to in this session. If you’ve watched the video and have questions, please reach out to me. My contact information is in the video, and you can also message me here on Substack.
Below the video, I’ve pasted the transcript, which ChatGPT cleaned up so you don’t have to read through the time stamps, uhs, and long pauses.
Enjoy!
Transcript from the call:
Kathy Garland: Hi, good morning. This is Kathy Garland, and I'm the author of the Substack publication called The Light in Us. I'm really passionate about sharing tools for navigating life, especially practical tips you can use right now. I discovered this process at the beginning of the year and wanted to share it because it has benefited me a lot. I want this to be casual and interactive. Those watching the recording, which I will send out, please follow up with me and ask questions. I'll give you some resources, and we'll have a chance to practice, work on this, and ask questions.
What I found is that it really helps me stay connected to the divine more. It gives me access to a different way to request support from wherever your source of connection is—whether it’s a deity, your guides, angels, or your team. This is a way for us to really tap into all of that benefit. The thing is, it's expansive. It's not just my guides or praying to God. It's a number of different benevolent energies that want to support us. That was appealing and exciting to me. I've noticed more synchronicity and synchronistic events. The more I practice this, the more synchronicity shows up in my life.
You can use what we're going to talk about for any domain of life—health, wealth, relationships, education, hobbies like travel—any area where you want things to flow easily. I guarantee it will help, and I'll tell you some times it might not help. But basically, everything is energy. From energy, there are emotions, and a lot of times our emotions flow from what we feel life is supposed to be like. Those emotions can turn us upside down, and it can be tough to overturn those beliefs. This is another tool you can use to help overturn limiting beliefs. I love this because it doesn’t require an expensive course. You can start using it right now.
This can enhance all of your activities and everything you do in your life. Universe in some cases works pretty quickly. Any questions before we start, before I dive into the process?
Peggy O'Neal: No, I'm just excited to hear about it.
Kathy Garland: It’s pretty simple and direct, so it won't take a whole lot of time. With me, I love flexibility. In a couple of places, I've built in areas where you can be flexible. I don’t believe that the people who created this have the corner on all of how it works. They’re putting out what’s worked for them. With everything we learn and do in life, I feel it’s about how we adapt it to our situation—who we are as a soul and a spirit and a human on earth. We’re going to cover a couple of things. What’s a request for a most benevolent outcome? The tool is about requesting a most benevolent outcome. How do we get the best in any situation? Where does it come from? I’ll tell you about the two authors I found who talk about this process. We’ll talk about examples and benevolent prayers for others. It’s great to use it for ourselves, but there’s so much good we can do when we offer benevolent prayers for others, especially right now. Everything’s so chaotic, there’s so much tension in the world, and so much strife and war. Sometimes we feel at a loss for what to do. Benevolent prayer is something we can do every day to help things get a little better. Then we’ll practice. In summary, practice and next steps. I’d love to hear from you and what you’ve discovered. Does that sound good?
Peggy O'Neal: Wonderful.
Kathy Garland: Great, alright. I found out about this process in a publication called the Sedona Journal of Emergence, from Sedona. It features spiritual contributors and their ideas, energies to pay attention to, and so on. I noticed two columns by Robert Shapiro and Tom T. Moore. They’ve both written books. A request for a most benevolent outcome is a method to ask universal and divine energy for what you want. It's a shortcut. We think we have to do certain things and be certain ways to manifest, like lighting candles on the full moon. Those things are great, but I'm practical, and I think my guides gave me something practical I could use. Tom Moore wrote "The Gentle Way: A Self-Help Guide for Those Who Believe in Angels." My belief is you don’t have to believe in angels. Angels are specific energy that’s supportive to us. But it’s a self-help guide for those who believe there’s something beyond our physical selves.
Responses can be quick for situations that are in your highest and best good, your life path. Whether you pray to a deity, talk to your angels, connect to your high self, guides, loved ones in spirit, or your team, this way of making a request is like a direct line to support. I call it a spiritual tool, and it will make your life easier. I want to hear if it doesn’t. The only reason it won’t work is if we don’t use it. I use it driving around, on walks, at the rec center. The key is to say it out loud. Whispering is fine in urgent situations or when others are around. Another important element is always expressing thanks and gratitude. When writing your requests, make it flow for you. Be really clear on what you want and say thank you.
Peggy O'Neal: Cool.
Kathy Garland: Alright. So, a lot of times I'll say the request and then, "For these miracles, I thank you." Expect miracles. Thank you, thank you, thank you. Better than we can hope for or expect. This or something better. I was requesting a specific amount of income and decided to lift the lid off that. Whatever is in my highest and best good. I’m working with that now to see how it goes. We have limited minds and think things have to be a certain way, but the divine may have something more to offer. Better than we can hope for or expect. I use these requests for finding what I need easily, safe travel, and more. It’s amazing how the energy clears a path for you. Here’s an example for health: "I request healing and support from any and all benevolent beings across all time and space for speedy healing of whatever condition you want to heal from. May the outcome be better than I hope for or expect." These requests put energy in motion on your behalf.
Peggy O'Neal: Yes, I noticed that you’ve got the word benevolent in a lot of them. But you don’t start with "I request a benevolent outcome." This is more the language.
Kathy Garland: No, it’s not that you can’t use it. It’s just how this has evolved for me. But you can say, "I request a most benevolent outcome for my trip" or "I request support and assistance from all beings across time and space for easy, safe travel, and finding what I need easily. Thank you, thank you, thank you." It’s very flexible. I may not say it exactly this way every day, but I request a most benevolent outcome for daily activities. It supports you in finding the best job, place to live, resolving disagreements, and more.
Robert Shapiro talks about benevolent magic and living prayer, which is for yourself and others. I’m in a benevolent prayer group on Whatsapp, and we share requests. It's supportive to know others are saying the same prayer on your behalf or your loved ones. Here’s one from the book: "I’m asking for my personal income and resources to increase and develop in such a way as I feel wealthy, and that this occurs benevolently for me, so that I may be happy and comfortable." Adapt it any way you want. It’s not in a greedy way, but so we feel happy and comfortable and use our wealth for the highest and best good. Here are some links to order the books for reference.
Peggy O'Neal: Well, you told me about these books the other day, and that’s why I was so excited to be here. I noticed one of them, maybe both, had other books. Do you think we only need these two?
Kathy Garland: I haven’t ordered their other books. Robert Shapiro has a lot on his website, and Tom Moore has one about pets for people who love pets. I don’t have a pet, so I haven’t bought that one. But the resources are there for anyone who wants to look into them. You can find their books on Amazon.
Peggy O'Neal: Okay, thank you.
Kathy Garland: Let’s talk about the elements. What we’re seeking is a most benevolent outcome. Benevolent means good and positive. Someone who is benevolent wants the best for every situation. Of course, we want a most benevolent outcome. We don’t want things to go badly. Before, my energy was scattered, but now I barely experience stress because I make requests for benevolent outcomes before I travel. A benevolent outcome is a request you want for yourself. It taps into your divine support system and brings positive energy into your life. It won’t work if we’re trying to cause harm or negativity or limit someone else, unless it's to protect ourselves.
Tom Moore says it’s important to speak your request out loud to activate that request energy. I say it out loud when I’m driving, walking, or alone in the house. In urgent situations, whispering is fine. Always express thanks and gratitude. Word things so they flow for you. Be clear on what you want and say thank you.
Peggy O'Neal: So, the three bullets under the last one?
Kathy Garland: Yes. For example, "For these
miracles, I thank you. For this most benevolent outcome, I thank you." Sometimes I’ll say thank you three times. Another one is "better than we can hope for or expect," or "this or something better." When I was requesting a specific amount of income, I decided to lift the lid off that and ask for whatever is in my highest and best good. The universe may have something better in mind. The key is to say it out loud and express gratitude.
Peggy O'Neal: Okay, thank you.
Kathy Garland: Here are some examples. For work and business: "I request any and all beings for support, light, and clarity for my decision on what to do next." For daily activities: "I request support and assistance from all beings across time and space for easy, safe travel, and finding what I need easily. Thank you, thank you, thank you." For health: "I request healing and support from any and all benevolent beings across all time and space for speedy healing of whatever condition you want to heal from. May the outcome be better than I hope for or expect." These requests put energy in motion on your behalf.

Kathy Garland: Let’s practice. Jot down one area of life or one specific thing you want to improve. If you don’t mind sharing, Peggy, that would be great.
Peggy O'Neal: Sure, I’m looking for financial income.
Kathy Garland: Okay, I would ask for an immediate increase in your money flow. We want our business to grow and also be open to other sources of income. You could ask for immediate support of cash flow in any form. I request my guides and beings to guide me in the next step to creating income.
Peggy O'Neal: Okay, I request all guides and beings for the most benevolent outcome.
Kathy Garland: Perfect. The key is to feel it. The only reason it might not work is if it’s not supportive of your life path or the timing is off. Other areas where people have used most benevolent outcomes with good results include where to live, problem-solving, hiring people, travel, health, relationships, spiritual connections, and of course, money. Release it to the universe.
Peggy O'Neal: So, in theory, you say it once and release it?
Kathy Garland: Exactly. Use it in everyday situations. It’s not about getting it right or wrong. The only wrong we can do is if we ask for something that might cause harm to someone else. Any other questions?
Peggy O'Neal: No, I’m excited about using this.
